Welcoming Amy Lyons as Director

To commemorate International Women’s Day on March 8th, LIVIN is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey: the appointment of Amy Lyons as a LIVIN Director. Amy’s appointment marks a pivotal moment as she becomes our organisation’s first female director alongside Alan Brady and Casey Lyons, CEO of LIVIN.

Amy brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to mental health advocacy, perfectly aligning with our mission at LIVIN. Her appointment not only signifies a significant step in leadership but also underscores our commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace culture.

As we embrace this year’s theme, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” we recognise the importance of empowering women in all spheres of life. Amy’s leadership exemplifies the positive impact that women can have when given the opportunity to thrive and lead. Her vision, coupled with her unwavering commitment to our cause, promises to accelerate our progress towards creating a world where mental health is prioritised and stigma is eradicated.

How long have you been a part of the LIVIN team?

I’ve been part of the LIVIN team now for 9+ years!

What’s your current role at LIVIN?

I have been the Creative Director at LIVIN for a few years now, over the years I have been program coordinator, social media coordinator, marketing coordinator, head of merchandise and fundraising. All positions have led me to acquire the knowledge I have today and I am grateful for the experience. 

Share a moment in your LIVIN experience that sticks with you:

During my 9+ year journey with LIVIN, finding that one standout moment is a challenge because I’ve been fortunate to be a part of so many impactful experiences! From individuals bravely sharing their stories to incredible events and the generous contributions of time and funds, each instance has been pivotal! What stands out even more is the meaningful impact our education programs have had on fostering mental well-being—an integral part of LIVIN’s mission.

What motivates you:

My motivation comes from my kids! I aim to ensure they have the skills and resilience needed to navigate the challenges life throws at them!

What are you proud of?

I am genuinely proud to be part of the #itaintweaktospeak movement, knowing that I’ve played a small part in an organisation that stands at the forefront of mental health education in Australia! Particularly, I am proud of the positive transformations LIVIN has brought about in people’s lives over the past decade, nurturing a culture of openness and support for mental well-being! I’m excited to play a part in LIVIN’s 10-year anniversary this year, too – big things to come!
