That’s right: December 25 marks the official start of the 12 days of Christmas, the Christian tradition that shares its name with a relentlessly stick-in-your-head Christmas carol. But no one sticks with many traditions these days, so we’re starting our own!

How to leave a Gift in your Will

Firstly, make sure your family and friends are looked after. Then, you may want to consider leaving a gift to LIVIN. Next, we advise you to visit a solicitor to have your Will professionally written after you decide what type of gift you would like to leave.

Types of Gifts in Wills

Residual gift – A portion of your estate, or the balance remaining after loved ones and expenses are provided for. This type of gift reflects your intention at the time you draw up your Will and automatically adjusts to changes in the value of your estate.

Percentage gift – A nominated percentage of your estate. This too will adjust its value over time as the value of your estate changes.

Specified amount of money – You nominate a specific amount of money to be left to LIVIN.

Specified items of value – Anything of value, such as property, shares, jewellery or works of art, may be

specifically named in your Will and given directly to LIVIN.
