How are you feelin’?

Take a moment right now to STOP and REFLECT on how you’re feeling. How are you really feeling?

We all experience ups and downs in life. Without the downs or challenges in life, it can be hard to truly appreciate the ups or special moments. The whole Ying and Yang, what’s pleasure without pain kind of thing.

Life is a bit like a rollercoaster. It has ‘Smiles and Frowns, Ups and Downs’. What’s important is developing greater insight, introspection, and an understanding of how you are feeling at any given point in time. Then, having the knowledge to know what you can do to ensure you’re LIVIN your best life – ‘Good LIVIN’

So again, take a moment right now to STOP and REFLECT on how you’re feeling. How are you really feeling?

Are you feeling? 

Well

This is when life is hunky-dory. You’re likely feeling positive, resilient, and charging through your days with few hiccups.

What to do when you’re feeling well: Regardless of how well you’re feeling, we encourage you to always prioritise self-care and social support (a ‘shoulder [or two] to lean on’) – this will help you to stay well, to maintain the rage.

Are you feeling?

Shaky

This is when life is throwing you a few curveballs. You’re likely experiencing some challenges over a couple of days, but you’re managing to get through your days okay.

What to do when you’re feeling shaky: Don’t be too hard on yourself if you’re experiencing a few ups and downs. ‘Take it Easy’ on yourself. Ramp up and prioritise self-care and social support here. Take charge of your mental health so you can quickly return to a state of feeling well.

Are you feeling like you’re…?

Spiralling

‘Yeah, nah’ – things aren’t great! This is when things are getting on top of you, and you feel like you’re starting to drown. Doing what you need to do is becoming very difficult. Bouncing back is tough.

What to do when you’re spiralling: Prioritise self-care and social support – that ‘shoulder to lean on’ is extra important here. But please, also consider professional support.

Are you feeling?

Unwell

This is when you’re in the hurt locker – ‘SCREW THIS’ you might be cursing to yourself! Things have not been improving for several weeks now. Doing what you need to do is proving very challenging. Perhaps life’s challenges seem almost impossible to overcome despite some of your best efforts to feel better.

What to do when you’re feeling unwell: Prioritise self-care and social support and please reach out for professional support. It Ain’t Weak to Speak.

An important thing to remember as you assess how you’re feeling, is that you don’t typically become unwell or develop mental ill-health/ become mentally unwell instantly. Often, it’s a journey – a journey filled with complexity and several different variables. What this means is that there are points along this journey where you can stop and reflect on how you’re feeling and take appropriate action to change your course for the better! BUT YOU MUST TAKE ACTION. If you change nothing, nothing will change. 

Check-In-With Yourself Regularly & Take Action.
